Here is a good way to start the day. Audio tracks are powerful when used on a daily basis. I have 2 types. For ‘relax’ tracks you need to lie or sit down in a quiet area or wear headphones. It put you in self hypnosis. The ‘outloud’ track keeps you in normal consciousness which means you can listen while cooking, cleaning, sitting down, and similar activities. Both are short. 6-9 minutes long which means you can listen most anytime just be in a safe place.

MONITOR YOUR STRESS

Many people go thru their day without realizing how much stress they are under. It helps to monitor it so you can do something about it. First let’s set up a stress scale of 1-10 with 1 lowest to 10 extreme. Look back and see stressful times. Put a number on a few incidences. This will give you your higher range. Next let’s start monitoring your stress levels. During your day take a moment to ask yourself:

  • What is my stress level right now? 1-10 
  • Ask: How does it feel?
  • If needed use the Action Plan – next post

Do this many times during your day. Look for patterns. This is important. 

TRIGGERS

Look for what triggers your stress levels to go up. Here’s a few.

  • Money
  • Work
  • School
  • Family
  • Health
  • Sports
  • Video games
  • Doctor visit

Money

  • need to fix car, not enough money
  • kids need to go to dentist
  • $37 in bank

Family

  • kids running around 
  • have to make dinner
  • have to wash clothes

Stress can also be thought of as ‘pressure’ to get something done. It can activate us to step up and get it done. During the next posts we will work on lowering your stress and how to thrive under stress.
