LET’S WORK TOGETHER

Your Inner Mind (subconscious) is very powerful. It can help you have a better life or it can do everything it can to stop you from having a good life. It contains your memories, habits, emotions, fun, inspiration, imagination, habits, creativity are in it. It can send you desires and cravings, bad memories, guilt, tiredness, anger, anxiety, depression OR it can send you motivation, confidence, inspiration, good habits, and excitement. What we want to do is have the Conscious Mind and the Inner Mind work together so it sends us motivation, confidence, inspiration, determination, good habits, excitement and we are happier.

Let’s work together. Think of your Inner Mind as a car. The Conscious Mind is the driver and the Inner Mind (subconscious) is the car. The Conscious Mind needs to tell the Inner Mind what you want to do, where you want to go, that it’s time for some fun, work on this, these are my goals, here is my to do list. And like a car you need to take care of it.

Like a car you need to give direction to the Inner Mind. You can learn how to give it positive suggestions, how to overcome blocks, get motivated, get inspired, have more fun, peace and joy. Like driving you need to learn how to drive it and take care of it. Like driving a car you would keep it on the path to wherever you are going. 

Take charge also means using the resources of the Inner Mind. For example getting motivated to lose weight, getting inspired to finish writing Chapter 7, to take an imaginary trip to Hawaii during a work break for R&R, to remember answers when taking your Math exam, to relax when stressed. It is about reducing the negatives and amplifying the positives until your Inner Mind fills up with positives and you are happier. 

FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLE OF THE INNER MIND

Your Inner Mind judges ideas such as I can… and I can’t…. by which one is stronger and then it will do everything to make that one happen. Let’s look at weight loss. You Inner Mind can be a mixture of ‘I can lose weight’ and ‘I can’t lose weight’. If the ‘I can lose weight’ is stronger your Inner Mind will send you motivation, inspiration, confidence, and do whatever it can to help you lose weight. If the ‘I can’t lose weight’ is stronger the Inner Mind will send you cravings and desires to eat, doubts, tiredness, and it will do everything to keep you from losing weight. You can still lose weight but it will be a daily struggle. 

What are the ‘I can lose weight’ and ‘I can’t lose weight’ made up of. They are made up of past successes and past failures especially around weight. They are made up of your habits around food, good habits and bad. They are made up why you want to lose weight and how strong these reasons are. They are made up of how much emotional eating you do. 

If you want a better life then it’s time to take charge of your Inner Mind. Notice I say take charge and not control because you can’t control it and you won’t want to. This Post will focus more on adding positives and discharging the negatives as they come up. Other Workbooks and Posts deal with the other areas.

Why Take Charge?

Here are some reasons.

  • Having positive thoughts instead of negative ones
  • Get motivated to reach goal fast and easier

  • Having more fun
  • Have good memories instead of bad ones

  • Lose weight if you are overweight
  • Quit smoking
  • your own personal reasons
  • Be HAPPIER

Strategy

We need to add positives and we can do this at anytime or when the negatives come up. We want to discharge the negative ones until the positives are stronger. Now some areas can be positive while some can be negative. For example your weight may be perfectly fine but you smoke, or you get angry a lot, or you are rude. As we keep adding positives more areas become positive and you become happier. It takes times for the positives to build up and become stronger than the negatives. Here are ways to do that.

Start By Monitoring Your Thoughts

Monitor and become aware of negative thoughts and feelings when they happen and deal with them. For example many people get stressed out and they just continue on with whatever they are doing and stay stressed out and don’t deal with it or perhaps don’t even know how high their stress is. We want to recognize stress right away and deal with it. When bad memories come up we want to recognize that they are here and have a way to deal with them. 

How To Add Positives To Your Inner Mind

Here are guidelines for adding positives and they will also help you discharge negatives. You can use these at any time you want or when a negative comes up. Example using smoking.

  1. Positive Suggestions – Make them positive, present tense, simple, realistic, add emotions, and repeat them often. I can quit smoking. I love being a nonsmoker. The Inner Mind (subconscious) thinks in the present so we need to talk to it in the present.
  2. Questions – I love questions. They bring up insight and answers. What’s going on? What can I do? Why do I want to smoke? How will I feel when I become a nonsmoker? Why do I get so stressed out at work?
  3. Anti-Suggestions – True statements about what the consequences of doing something, for example what smoking does to you. The Inner Mind doesn’t consider the consequences when you smoke so we need to tell it. Smoking can cause lung cancer. Smoking makes my body stink. Smoking burns my lungs.
  4. True Statements about what happens when you quit. After quitting my lungs begin to clear up. After quitting my body smells good again. After quitting I have more energy. 
  5. Instructions – Visualize being a nonsmoker. Say your goal 3 times. Name 3 reasons you want to quit smoking. 

Fast & Simple Way To Deal With Negatives 

Be ready for them. For example if a bad memory comes up think about a good memory or use a response from below. If you are tired give yourself suggestions of having energy like energy flows thru me or use Strong self hypnosis. If you have cravings or desires to eat when losing weight use ‘I can lose weight’ or one of the responses below. The point is to have responses ready when the negatives come up.

EXAMPLE – Bad Memories

How do we let go of bad memories and replace them with good ones. I think everyone has some bad memories and they can make you sad and more negative. So what do we do? Here are 5 ways in no particular order.

PLAN A Make a list of 5 or more good memories in detail. Whenever the bad ones comes up think about a good one right away. Some of my good memories are playing sandlot baseball as a young kid with my friends, getting a Lionel train for Christmas when I was 6 years old, going to a Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young concert, the first time I saw Molly my wife, having a giraffe eat out of my hand. So when a bad one comes up just replace it a good memory or daydream about one of your good memories.

PLAN B Let them play out in your mind for a few moments and ask yourself: “What was going on?” after awhile ask: ”What did I learn?” Perhaps sometimes you may learn something valuable and sometimes you may just learn that ‘shit happens’. Next let a good memory come up.

PLAN C Visualize reaching your goal, or walking on a sunny beach in Hawaii, or having fun with your family, or whatever is good.

PLAN D When a bad memories comes up think of a good outcome instead of the bad that happened. For example I was on the wrestling team in high school but I didn’t do too well. When this bad memory comes up I quickly see myself winning the State Championship. 

PLAN E If bad memories are overwhelming you, causing you a lot of pain, and/or keeping you from your normal life you might want to go to a Doctor, Therapist or Hypnotherapist to help you with them.

Note after doing this for a while you might find that your bad memories are discharged and now are just memories. This happened for me.

EXAMPLE – Weight Loss

When a craving or desire comes up you can use:

THE SIGNPOST – See yourself at a crossroads with 2 paths. The path to the left is to stay overweight. See your future going down this path and staying overweight. The path to the right is losing weight and reaching your goal weight. See your future going down this path at your goal weight. Choose the right path.

PEP TALK – Give yourself positive suggestions about reaching your goal. Here are some ideas. You can say 3-4 different ones or choose one and say it 3-4 times

  • I can lose weight
  • I lose weight
  • I follow my food plan today
  • I love losing weight
  • Losing weight means I am healthier
  • Losing weight means I look so much better
  • I love losing weight and being happier
  • Or make up your own like a coach would

AUDIO TRACKS – Probably the most powerful. They last 2-9 minutes so it is easy to listen to them. Included in Weight Loss Workbook or on flash drive.

STOP STOP – Say this and then ask: ‘What’s going on?’ wait for answer and then ask ‘What can I do instead of eating?’

DAYDREAM – About reaching your goal weight. Or perhaps getting on a scale and seeing a lighter number come up.

I CAN – If you have doubts use the words – I can lose weight. I can…

HOW HYPNOSIS AND SELF HYPNOSIS HELP

Hypnosis and Self Hypnosis brings your Inner Mind into Awareness so that you can add ++++ and remove – – – –  and make the changes you want. It is much easier and much more effective to do this while in Hypnosis or Self Hypnosis. This is how Hypnosis operates. It brings your Inner Mind into your awareness so you can adjust it to stop the bad memories, negative desires or whatever is keeping you negative and to get super motivated, confident, excited, and moving at a fast pace which means you are more positive. It helps diffuse the negatives and add positives fast and easier than any other method. Hypnosis is done with a Hypnotist and you go deeper. You do Self Hypnosis and it is effective because you can do it on the spot when you need some help and you can do it as many times as you want.  

FIVE TYPES OF SELF HYPNOSIS HERE

Five types of self hypnosis will be taught in my Workbooks and at the sessions : Peace, Strong, ‘relax relax’ self hypnosis, EFT , and audio tracks. EFT will be taught in sessions and other Workbooks.

Peace self hypnosis relaxes the body and mind and allows your Inner Mind to come into Awareness. People experience this during a massage, an engrossing movie at the theater, in a recliner listening to soft music and just before sleep.

Strong self hypnosis energizes your body and mind which I also call ‘Energy’ self hypnosis. It brings your Inner Mind into Awareness a little. A little is all we need. Competitive athletes experience it calling it the zone or whatever new term they have. The Conscious Mind can’t think fast enough to do all those fast maneuvers. The Inner Mind takes over and does them after long periods of practice. When you have been driving and suddenly don’t remember driving that’s Strong self hypnosis. It’s great for getting pumped at the gym, while taking an exam, and at work and many other times.

The ‘relax relax’ self hypnosis is used when you are under stress, and have mental and muscle tension or whenever you want. It sends a wave of relaxation down thru your body. And your stress or tension level goes down and you feel better. Or it can be just used on the one tense part of your body. I have my tension in my face muscles so I just focus on these muscles and say ‘relax relax’ and they relax.

‘relax relax’ SELF HYPNOSIS

Just repeat the words ‘relax relax’ and feel a wave of relaxation flow down thru your body. And the cravings, stress, anger whatever will go down and you will feel better. You can just focus on the tense area of your body and say ‘relax relax’ and this area relaxes. To start imagine it happening. Takes time.

PEACE SELF HYPNOSIS

For Peace self hypnosis you can say ‘at peace’ or ‘relaxing’ or ‘heavy’ whichever you want and use it thorough out the exercise. I use heavy. Can I use it while working? Yes it only takes a few seconds just make sure you are in a safe place.

  • My shoulders, arms and hands are ‘at peace’ or ‘relaxing’ or ‘heavy’
  • My chest and stomach are at peace
  • My back is at peace. I am at peace

STRONG SELF HYPNOSIS

  • My shoulders, arms and hands are ‘strong’ or ‘energized’
  • My chest and stomach are strong
  • My back and legs are strong.
  • I am strong

Notice they are both the same except for one is at peace and the other is strong and Strong adds the legs. Also notice they take your awareness from your mind to your torso. Away from whatever doubts, stress, and desires you may be having.

For Peace or Strong self hypnosis you have more than one choice of words to use i.e. for strong you can use strong or energized either one is good just use the same one thru out the whole set of self hypnosis.

Example – quit smoking

  • Use Peace self hypnosis
  • My shoulders, arms and hands are ‘at peace’ or ‘heavy’ or ‘relaxing’
  • My chest and stomach are at peace
  • My back is at peace. I am at peace
  • TOOL Imagine the day you quit smoking
  • See yourself jumping with joy
  • Say: I am free I am free

*INSTRUCTIONS FOR SELF HYPNOSIS* 

You can keep your eyes open or closed. Peace is usually closed, strong open, and ‘relax relax’ can be either. First read the self hypnosis script to get an idea of what it is. Then read these lines one by one and follow what is says until you get the script in your head and then let them unfold in your mind. Deep is not needed.

NOTE Self Hypnosis will help however if the negatives are too strong you might want to see a Hypnotist which will help more and he can teach you self hypnosis. It also takes times to learn and become effective. There are also limits to self hypnosis notice that I say help not control or cure. For example if you have light anxiety it will help fine but if you have more anxiety you should see a doctor. Also there are other ways such as meditation, mindfulness, EFT, and Reiki and there are many other types of self hypnosis which you can find on youtube. I also teach more types of self hypnosis.

Also note that you can modify, ignore parts, or come up with your program. What’s important is that you build a mental structure to think positive.

SELF HYPNOSIS TOOLS

Picture a tool box. Instead of a hammer and nails you have self hypnosis tools. Tools to be strong, tools to stop the excuses, tools to get answers, tools to get motivated and to stay on track. You can use one whenever you want or need one. Tools for work, school, home, gym, goals, stress, and weight loss. We first do self hypnosis then we use a Tool.

TOOL – During a break – for weight loss

  • Say to yourself Peace self hypnosis eyes closed
  • My shoulders, arms and hands are ‘at peace’ or ‘relaxing’ or ‘heavy’
  • My chest and stomach are at peace
  • My back is at peace.
  • I am at peace
  • Peace flows thru me
  • TOOL See yourself standing on the scale and see it reading your goal
  • TOOL Say your goal 3 times
  • TOOL Say the benefits of losing weight
  • Say: Wake up to a good day 5.4.3.2.1.   
  • 30 seconds or less

TOOLAnytime you need more energy

  • Say Strong self hypnosis
  • Eyes open or closed
  • My shoulders, arms and hands are strong or energized
  • My chest and stomach are strong
  • My back and legs are strong. 
  • I am strong
  • Strength flow thru me
  • TOOL Say your Goal 3 times or whatever you need energy for
  • TOOL I am energized and complete my gym workout or whatever you are working on
  • Say Have a good day 5.4.3.2.1.
