CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE

How will I look when I lose 10 pounds? 

EMOTIONAL EATING 

Many people eat sweets/overeat because of stress, doubts, worries, being tired, yelling kids and simply because they like the taste. It diffuses the feelings coming up. It becomes a habit and an attitude towards eating. While eating should be satisfying and enjoyable it’s main purpose is to nourish your body. Change your attitude towards eating to the purpose of eating is to nourish my body.

I BELIEVE I CAN

I had to lose 63 pounds. It wasn’t until I lost 35 pounds did I realize for sure that I was going to make it. Work hard on removing the doubts (further below). Change from ‘it’s possible’ to ‘I can’ to ‘I know I can’. 

ATTITUDE ABOUT YOURSELF

We want to go from seeing ourselves as an overweight person who eats too many sweets and overeats to a person who eats good healthy meals and is at their goal weight. We want to change how we see ourselves. The eating sweets/overeat and being overweight is part of your past. Something we did in the past and we no longer do or want to do. Wave goodbye to it. We want to do this at a deep level.

EXAMPLE – Part of our Past 

  • Say out loud or to your self Peace self hypnosis
  • My shoulders, arms and hands are at ‘peace’ or ‘relaxing’ or ‘heavy’
  • My chest and stomach are at peace
  • My back is at peace. I am at peace
  • TOOL: See a picture of yourself at present weight.
  • See yourself moving forward in time losing weight and leaving behind the overweight you
  • Look backward and see that being overweight is part of your past
  • Something I was in the past. Wave goodbye
  • I am losing weight and love it
  • See feel yourself at your goal weight

When ready say: Wake up to a good day 5.4.3.2.1.  (optional)

*INSTRUCTIONS FOR SELF HYPNOSIS* 

You can keep your eyes open or closed. Peace is usually closed, strong open, and ‘relax relax’ can be either. First read the self hypnosis script to get an idea of what it is. Then read these lines one by one and follow what is says until you get the script in your head and then let them unfold in your mind. Deep is not needed. 

For Peace or Strong self hypnosis you have more than one choice of words to use i.e. for strong you can use strong or energized either one is good just use the same one thru the whole self hypnosis

NO EXCUSES

Make a list of all the excuses you could use to not lose weight. Now go thru each one and cross it out. There are almost no excuses for you to stay overweight. There are a few of them like seriously ill, very old, etc.

NEW PERSON GROWING

A new person is growing within you. A person who wants to reach and stay at their goal weight. See feel this person growing within you and getting ready to emerge. 

BENEFITS OF BEING OVERWEIGHT

Wow! there are no benefits to being overweight. Are you sure? For many people there are benefits to being overweight. I can eat what I want, when I want, and how much. I’m not as attractive so I don’t have to play the dating game. It keeps me from being who I really want to be. People usually are not aware of them. Find out if there are any benefits for you. Do ‘Get Answers’ in a later Chapter.

REMOVING DOUBTS

Starting a new project can raise so many doubts. If you want to lose 50 pounds it could take 6 months to a year. That’s a long time. How can I last that long? I had to lose 65 pounds. I knew it was possible. But I thought the odds were very slim. Doubts were popping up like popcorn. I just didn’t have the strength and willpower. I was too old. I get stressed out. Sometimes I get anxious or angry. It would probably take a year. Could I last that long? 18 months later I have lost 57 pounds with just a little more to lose. I know I can make it. Garry Waligore 

TOOL – AUDIO TRACKS 

They are my favorite way to use self hypnosis. You listen and they motivate you,  help remove temptations & doubts, and you gain insight. They only take 2-10 minutes which means you can listen most anytime anywhere and you will become more confident.  

TOOL – I CAN

Use the words ‘I can’ often. I can lose weight. I can eat less. I can exercise. I can get an ‘A’ on my Math exam. I can have $1,000 in commissions this week. The words ‘I can’ are easier to accept than ‘I will’. If you have doubts start using the word ‘I can’ right away until you start believing you can. I can lose weight. I can exercise. I can get an ‘A’ on my Math exam. I can study and learn the material.

EXERCISE – Start telling yourself I can lose weight and/or I can follow my food plan today and/or I can eat less or whatever works for you. Out loud or to yourself. Do this during a work break, while walking from your car, while standing in line. 

TOOL – DAYDREAM

Just daydream like you did as a kid about reaching your goal weight. Imagine it happening. See the scale coming up with lower numbers. See feel the benefits. Whatever you want daydream about it. Do this as often as you can when taking a break, standing in line, riding a bus, most anytime anywhere. It takes only a few seconds. 

Your Inner Mind needs to be told what you want and the key is adding ++++’s. The Conscious Mind is the driver in a car with the Inner Mind the car. You need to steer, to step on the gas pedal and step on the brakes when needed. You can reach your goals.

TOOL – PAST FAILURES

If you are having doubts floating thru your mind they could be from past failures. You may have tried to lose weight many times before and each time you failed you felt crushed and hopeless. Or you may have lost the weight but gained it back.

You can use a failure from your weight history or any past event. For example, look at your weight history. Bring up your past attempts. Ask and reflect on these two questions.1. ”What was going on”? 2. What did I learn”? You can also use Peace self hypnosis. Self hypnosis takes some time to learn but you don’t have to go deep. Just say the words and go with them.

  • Sit or lie down
  • Use Peace self hypnosis
  • Say: My shoulders, arms and hands are ‘at peace’ or ‘heavy’ or ‘relaxing’
  • My chest and stomach are at peace
  • My back is at peace. I am at peace
  • Peace flows thru me
  • TOOL – Look at a past failure
  • Ask: What was going on?  (wait for few moments for answers)
  • What did I learn?
  • Visualize being OK with this
  • Say your goal 3 times
  • See feel yourself reaching your goal

When ready say: Wake up to a good day 5.4.3.2.1.   (optional)

While your failures can be discouraging, your successes can be super motivating. Look over your life for your accomplishments whether losing weight or any other areas and write a few down. Bring into your mind a success and look at the difficulties you had to overcome. See feel yourself having these feelings of success. You can do this in normal consciousness or use self hypnosis. 

  • My shoulders, arms and hands are ‘strong’ or ‘energized’
  • My chest and stomach are ‘strong’
  • My back and legs are strong. I am strong
  • Strength flows thru me
  • TOOL – Now bring up a past success
  • Look at what I had to overcome
  • Let feelings of success come over me
  • I did this and now I can lose weight
  • See feel yourself reaching your goal

When ready say: Wake up to a good day 5.4.3.2.1.   (optional)

TOOL – NEW PERSON GROWING 

Within you a new person is growing. One that loses weight and reaches your goal. See feel this new person growing inside you and emerging when you are ready. I see a figure of myself growing within me that is at my goal weight. You can use any image you want. Do this visualization often during your day.

EXERCISE

Do the above 5 sections for your goal. Continue listening to the audio tracks and reading your Goalsheet in the morning. Banish the doubts. You can start taking charge of your mind. Self Hypnosis Tools are about your Conscious Mind using your willpower to make adjustments to your Inner Mind so that it helps you reach your goal.
