Self Hypnosis is about the Conscious Mind using willpower to make adjustments to the Inner Mind. In this case to help you turn stress into peace and strength. It’s all about turning stress into peace and strength. Like a brain surgeon or a quarterback does. Let’s look at what we can do. It’s different for each person.

Here is a good way to get going on lowering your stress. Use it. You do not have to do all the steps just what you need. Afterwards you can modify it or make up your own at any time.

Step 1: Keep on the lookout for stress.  See Stress – Introduction post.

Step 2: Use this self hypnosis tool to relax. It will automatically relax you. Program this into your mind. The tapes repeat this throughout them. See post on self hypnosis.

During my day I watch my stress level
When my stress level goes up
I say the words ‘relax relax’ and
I feel a wave of relaxation flowing
From my head on down thru my body
And I feel the stress going down

Step 3 If needed. Many time use the ‘relax’ words will be enough.

Use peace self hypnosis. Eyes open or closed. This will work for most cases in which you can stop for a few seconds. If not skip.

  • My shoulders, arms and hands are at peace.
  • My chest and stomach are at peace.
  • My back is at peace.
  • I am at peace.

Step 4: Ask yourself “What’s going on?” My boss says we need to get more done. Or the kids are screaming. Or my math test is tomorrow morning at 9am. 

Step 5: Ask: What can I do?  Hopefully something will come up or perhaps nothing will. It’s important to have a few ‘tools’ you can do. Below are a few. When stress attacks use one of them. This list gives you good ideas to get started. You can make up your own at any time.

  1. Use a squeeze ball. My favorite
  2. See yourself getting whatever is needed done quickly and easily.
  3. Use strong or peace self hypnosis.
  4. Eat a carrot, celery or something healthy.
  5. Take a quick break.
  6. Do a peaceful visualization.
  7. Let a little person sweep all the stress out of your mind.
  8. Ask: “How important is this to my overall life?”
  9. Go for a walk.
  10. Talk to someone about it.
  11. SCREAM.
  12. Give yourself a PEP talk.
  13. Say your goal in this area 3 times.
  14. Let the stress just roll over and out.
  15. Make up your own.

Step 6: Use Strong Self Hypnosis to get you going and do what needs to be done.

  • My shoulders, arms and hands are strong.
  • My chest and stomach are strong.
  • My back is strong.
  • My heart is strong.
  • I am strong.

All of this can be done in seconds. As with everything on this blog feel free to adapt to your needs. Or make up your own. You might want to do all steps for awhile and later skip some. You can feel the stress and go directly to the tool of your choice. You are in charge.


Stress many times requires that we do something like work faster, study harder or find more money. We want to turn stress into peace and strength. First peace to calm us down and to deal with what’s going on and then strength to get it done.
