June 19 How will I feel when I gain weight? How will I feel when I lose weight? Ask yourself this when you need some motivation.
June 20 Can you eat just one cookie? Do you have sugar cravings and just want to eat ice cream or whatever is available? You may have to cut out sugary treats for awhile and also watch out for sugar in your regular food by reading the labels. Fruit and fruit juice have sugar in them so watch out. There are many treats that have no or little sugar such as ritz crackers and tortilla chips. Look at the labels.
June 21 Imagine how much more attractive you will be when you reach your goal weight.
June 22 Name 3 reasons you want to lose weight? Which one excites you the most? Who do you want to impress?
June 23 How is your weight loss going? What grade A, B, C, …. would you give yourself? What can you do to make it better?
Jun 24 How long do you want to live? By losing weight and maintaining a ‘healthy weight’ the odds are that you will live years longer. Do you want to live years longer?
June 19 Help someone today anyway you can. Someone at Safeway asked where the paper towels were and I showed her. Yesterday Molly had a tire leak and she didn’t know how to fill it up with air and a nice guy came over and filled it for her. Each day try to help someone and you will feel better.
June 20 Having bad memories pop up causing regrets, guilt or sadness? At age 70 I am having a lot of them. Try letting a good memory pop up and make it as vivid as possible to cheer you up. Keep a list in your head or written done so you can let them pop up at any time so you can have good feelings instead of bad ones. More methods to deal with bad memories tomorrow.

Another way is to go back to the beginning of the bad memory and imagine the past event happening in a positive way with a good result so that you feel better about it and will have a better day
June 22 Bad Memories Tips – So far when a bad memory comes up we talked first about letting a good memory come up and second making the bad memory into a positive rerun. Today we will talk about switching to thinking about a goal or change we are working on. When the bad memory comes up switch to a goal and imagine the goal happening. For example my goal for weight loss is to have my slim pants fit loose so when a bad memory comes up I can right away think of myself putting on my slim pants and they fit loose. Read more tomorrow.
June 23 Bad Memory 4th Tip – When a bad memory comes up move your body perhaps walk to the next room, squeeze one of those squeeze balls, get up and go anywhere and the memory will slowly fade away.
June 24 Bad Memory 5th Tip – When one comes up think about something you like to do or want to do like going to Hawaii or doing something with the family. Imagine the colors and shapes, touch and feel, what sounds you will hear for whatever you are doing. Let good feelings come up and have fun like your did as a kid.
